As part of its landscaping process to identify potential investment
partners, Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP) asked Community
Wealth Ventures (CWV) to identify community-based organizations
serving the largest number of children in the National Capital
Region, ideally those serving more than 100 children per year
through comprehensive programs. CWV excluded from its research
scan organizations that are primarily focused on advocacy and
those that provide only temporary services, as these tend to be
outside of VPP’s investment focus. The report below represents
CWV’s findings. Please note that this report is not intended
to assess organizations’ effectiveness and quality—only
the number of children they serve.
