VPP is fortunate to have a remarkable group of investors--individuals and families who have made significant contributions to the National Capital Region and beyond through their business and philanthropic endeavors. Many of them have turned their attention and resources to the philanthropic sector, where they are applying the same entrepreneurial spirit that brought them success in the for-profit arena to their innovative philanthropic efforts.

	The Case Foundation was founded by Jean and Steve Case in 1997 to reflect their family's heartfelt commitment to finding lasting solutions to complex social challenges. Today, the foundation is pursuing a number of initiatives, and is particularly focused on three strategies: encouraging collaboration; supporting successful leaders; and fostering entrepreneurship in the nonprofit sector.
	The CityBridge Foundation, founded in 1993 by Katherine and David Bradley, has been the lead partner and principal funder for projects in the Philippines, Russia, and South Africa. Lately, the Foundation's focus has shifted away from the international arena to interventions to serve families and children in Washington, DC.
	Fight for Children, founded by VPP Investor Joe Robert, is committed to increasing the number of urban youth who are prepared for post-secondary education and career opportunities. Through key fundraising events such as Fight Night, as well as private contributions, matching grants, and public policy initiatives, Fight for Children has raised more than $190 million to support more than 140 youth- and family-serving organizations and expand education options for families in all three sectors (traditional public, charter public, and independent schools) in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.
	The Carl M. Freeman Foundation was established in 1960 by Mr. Carl M. Freeman and has supported dozens of organizations for more than forty years. Now led by VPP Investor Joshua M. Freeman as Chairman, the Foundation facilitates, supports, and promotes quality community-based leadership and giving in the greater Washington, DC and Delmarva communities.
	The Leonsis Foundation was established by VPP Investor Ted Leonsis in 2000 to create opportunities for children that enable them to reach their highest potential. The Foundation partners with and supports organizations with the creativity, skill, and dedication to help children overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
	The Melton Foundation was established by VPP Investors William and Patricia Smith to bring positive change in the world through a network of people from diverse cultures empowered by lasting bonds of friendship, open communication, and mutual respect. Though its Melton Fellow program, the Foundation links talented university students of different cultures to form a lifelong professional network which will not only benefit them personally, but their nations and the entire global community.
	The Morino Institute was founded by VPP Investor and Chairman Mario Morino to advance the vision that all children have the opportunity to grow into adults leading healthy, productive lives. The Institute's programs have focused in four key areas: stimulating entrepreneurship, advancing a more effective philanthropy, closing social divides and understanding the relationship and impact of the Internet on our society.
	PEACE X PEACE, founded by VPP Investor Patricia Smith Melton, connects women via the Internet across cultural divides to promote understanding and collaborative actions for peace and security. Through its interactive Global Network, PEACE X PEACE empowers women to share their personal stories, support one another, and work collectively in building peace.
	The Stargazer Foundation was founded by VPP Investors Art and Kathy Bushkin to make advanced technological capabilities available to people, groups, organizations, and governments around the world. The Foundation develops and operates Stargazer.org, an online service for social good that provides available advanced communications, collaboration, and distance learning tools in a simple, easy-to-use form for nonprofits
